Doctor Troop is a partner and practicing Anesthesiologist with Pinnacle Anesthesia in Dallas, Texas. He is also affiliated with multiple hospitals in this area, including Baylor Medical Center.
With over thirty years of clinical experience, Dr. Troop has a rich and varied professional career which includes private practice, consultant, staff, Associate Professor, and chairman of the Department of Anesthesia during his tenure at Columbia Medical Center in Plano, Texas.
He has presented at local, national and international conferences on topics including: Properly Positioning of the Obese Patient, Medical Challenging Cases in Anesthesia, Airway Management Systems for Obese Patients, and Advances in Anesthesia with H.E.L.P. Positioning.
He is the inventor and developer of the Troop Elevation Pillow, an aid to airway management for the obese patient. The Elevation Pillow is referenced in Barash Textbook of Clinical Anesthesia, Benumof’s Airway Management and Management of the Difficult and Failed Airway textbooks.
Dr. Troop received his Undergraduate degree in Pre-Medicine Sciences from The University of Manitoba and his M.D. from The University of Manitoba, Medical School. He completed his anesthesia training at UTSW, Parkland Hospital in Dallas, TX. He is a diplomat of American Board Anesthesiology and American Board of Emergency Medicine.
He resides in Texas with his wife Rozlyn. Their two adult children also reside in North Texas.
