Upper Extremity Support
Single Arm Support
The Single Arm Support is a single-use upper extremity positioner that safely secures the patient’s arm across their chest during surgery. This creates more room on the operative side of the table and prevents the arm from encroaching on the surgical site.
- Fast, safe, and repeatable positioning of the upper extremity
- Stabilize the arm across the chest and create more space on operative side of table
- Prevent the arm from encroaching on surgical site
- Protect the nerves and bony prominences of the elbow
Bone Foam Single Arm Support
Anterior hip procedures often require several practitioners to stand on one side of the operating table. With the patient in the supine position, the Single Arm Support positions the arm across the chest to create more space on the operative side of the table. Without the Single Arm Support, the surgeon does not have enough room to operate between the outstretched arm board and the femoral retractors at the hip.
The Single Arm Support base is stable over the chest of both male and female patients. The soft foam shell protects bony prominences and nerves of the elbow. To keep the arm from falling off the chest and encroaching on the surgical site, there is a long anchoring strap that secures to the opposite side of the table to stabilize the arm throughout the case.

- Comfortably positions the arm across the chest
- Protects bony prominences and neurovascular bundles of the elbow
- Strap secures to the opposite side of table to maximize operative space
Clinical Insights & Benefits
The Single Arm Support is a comfortable and safe way to position the upper extremity during surgery. The simple design protects the bony prominences and neurovascular bundles of the elbow. The Single Arm Support is a single-use item, which helps mitigate cross contamination between patients.
Create more room for the surgeon and instrumentation at the side of the table. The ability to anchor the Single Arm Support to the contralateral side of the table prevents the arm from falling and encroaching on the surgical site.
The base and shell design makes it efficient and repeatable for all OR staff members to accurately and safely position the upper extremities. This saves valuable OR time by eliminating the need for make-shift bumps and tape.
- Improve Patient Safety
- Maximize Operative Space
- Save Valuable OR Time
Improve Patient Safety
The Single Arm Support is stable over the patient’s chest and properly pads the elbow throughout the case. The skin-friendly foam is comfortable for the patient and the soft fabric straps reduce the risk of tape burn to threatened skin.
Maximize Operative Space
During anterior hip procedures, the arm is often placed over the chest to create more room for the surgeon and instrumentation. If the arm is positioned on a pillow with tape, it typically becomes unstable and falls into the operative space. The Single Arm Support has a long strap that is anchored to the contralateral side of the table to stabilize the upper extremity throughout the case and maximize room for the surgeon.
Save Valuable OR Time
Using unreliable towel bumps, pillows, and tape to position the extremity often leads to inconsistencies and movement during the case. These outdated positioning methods eat up valuable time and resources in the OR. The Single Arm Support saves valuable OR time with a quick, easy, and safe set-up.
